I am an avid lifelong runner. I’ve been running competitively for over 30 years. Everything from track to cross country, to road races, to trail races. I’ve raced in every distance from 100 meters to 50k. I love cycling and triathlons as well and have competed from sprint distance tri’s up to full Ironman.

I have a BS in Athletic Training and a MS in Biomechanics. I work full time as an Athletic Trainer at a private school where I take care of athletes in grades 7th through 12th. My primary focus is in preventing injuries through strengthening, trouble shooting, taping, bracing and more. When injuries happen I do first aid and treatment of them and if necessary the follow up rehabilitation.

I love all aspects of athletics and love helping introduce new athletes into my sports (running, cycling, triathlon) and helping them to achieve their goals. I am very active on twitter (@IronmanLongRunr) supporting other athletes and sharing my races and training. I am also on twitter (@LongRunr) helping and connecting with other athletic trainers working to keep our athletes safer.

I’ve been a budding writer for a while and though I’ve been inconsistant about posting, I’m writing more and more and hope that I can through my writing help others.

Thanks for reading and following!

    Hi Douglas,
I see you’ve written a lot about massage, health and fitness on ironmanlongrunr.wordpress.com so I’m guessing you might be interested in reviewing our one-of-a-kind deep tissue massage tools (launched on Kickstarter in 2014). Our backers and lots of buyers on Amazon have left rave reviews like “a godsend” and “worth its weight in gold”…

Please have a look at http://massagetrack.com and let me know if you’d like me to send you a kit to review… if so, please send me your mailing address and your height (so I can send you the right size Neck Track).

    Kind regards,

    Outreach Coordinator
